Development begins on 55 new homes in Langley

Date published: 29 October 2022

Development for 55 new houses – which attracted 100 complaints at the planning stage – has begun in Langley.

Lovell Homes is building 55 two, three and four-bedroom houses on the former Rothay Drive clearance site, with two parking spaces for each dwelling.

Opposing the plans in 2021 were local residents and the Save Bonscale Park group; 100 people signed a petition opposing the Eden Park development.

Anne-Marie O’Doherty, regional sales director at Lovell Homes, said: “It is great to be in Middleton following the success of Green Bank in 2019.

“Not only is this a fantastic location that has excellent commuter links to Manchester, but it is an area of previously low housing availability, meaning there is a real need for a mix of property types.

“With just 55 homes, it will have a real close-knit feel that will really help add to that sense of community from day one.

“We have seen strong interest even before these initial plots were released so we’re encouraging any house hunters to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Four plots have been initially released for sale, with prices starting from £279,950. Early bird reservations are also available on remaining plots.
