Christmas toy appeal
Acts of Kindness Heywood is running a Christmas toy appeal at the Heady Hill Community Centre on 11 December.
The appeal has been created by the non-profit organisation so local children living in poverty have a present to open on Christmas Day.
Toys are provided to children referred by a social worker, school, food bank or women’s refuge.
Sarah Evans, of Acts of Kindness Heywood, said: “We believe every child deserves a new gift at Christmas so we are unable to take used or second-hand items for the Christmas appeal.”
Toys must be new, not gift wrapped and suitable for a child aged 0-16.
The appeal runs from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday 11 December at the Heady Hill Community Centre on Whalley Road, Heywood.
