A man has been taken to hospital after being detained by police following a fail-to-stop collision on Ramsay Street, Rochdale.

The vehicle was followed by police for a short time before it was abandoned on a section of Yorkshire Street near Elliott Street.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "At 11.40am we spotted a vehicle that failed to stop after colliding with a HGV on Ramsay Street, Rochdale.

"The vehicle was abandoned by the driver a short time later on Halifax Road.
