Open day to be held at Springhill Hospice

Date published: 07 October 2022

Springhill Hospice is hosting its first open day next week giving people a chance to view their wide array of employment and volunteering opportunities, learn more about the incredible care Springhill provides to patients and families, gain a better understanding of their first rate educational training opportunities, or engage with fellow healthcare professionals.

From opening its doors in 1989, Springhill Hospice has become a much loved and essential pillar of the local community, helping patients and their families to ‘make every moment count’, even at end of life. Springhill understands that not everyone within the local area is fully aware of the many elements of support and care they provide, which is why they are hosting this open day – to spread the message that they are here for you, whenever you might need them.

Springhill Hospice’s chief executive, Sam Wells said: "Many people feel that hospices are terribly sad, clinical places and are surprised when they come in. This open day is an opportunity to come and see what the hospice is all about whether you are interested in working with us, volunteering for us or simply finding out more about our services.”

If you have ever considered working for the hospice, learning new clinical skills or perhaps acquiring a deeper understanding of palliative care; whatever the reason for visiting, Springhill Hospice looks forward to welcoming you to their Open Day.

The Open Day will take place between 1pm - 4pm on Friday 14 October, in the Springhill Suite at the main hospice building on Broad Lane, Rochdale OL16 4PZ.

For further information you can ring the hospice on 01706 649920.
