Comedy-drama show raises £1,500 for victims of Pakistan flooding

A charity comedy-drama show at Castlemere Banqueting Hall on 15 September has raised £1,500 for victims of the recent flooding in Pakistan.

Local individuals Zafar Iqbal and Raja Wajid, joined by Talib Kiyani from Luton, held a charity comedy-drama ‘Mein vi Madaad Karsaan’ (‘I’d like to help too’) with Kashmiri and Pakistani artists to raise money for victims of Pakistan flood relief.

Performers included Shazada Ghafar, Agha Majid, Zara Akbar, Saleem Albela, Zafar Iqbal, Talib Kiyani, Raja Wajid, Anwar Shad, Shazad Papa, Zerqa Ahmed.

Zafar and Raja presented a £1,500 cheque to Ibrar Ul Haq, a Pakistani singer who runs a charitable organisation ‘Sahara for Life Trust’ for people in need.

Zafar said: “We would like to thank artists, production team, volunteers, media and sponsors for their support.

“Thank you to people coming from Luton, Bradford, Bury, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Manchester, Oldham, Todmorden and other towns. Together we made the show a success story.

“The world is going through a tough phase, so we feel good knowing we done our bit to help people in need as every little helps.”

The event was organised by Kashmiri Productions UK in association with Pkkii Khabar and Worldwide Foods.
