Planned railway strikes suspended

Planned railway strikes for 15 and 17 September have been suspended following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The RMT and ASLEF trade union strikes had been planned to take place during the national period of mourning ahead of Her Majesty’s state funeral on Monday 19 September.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said: "RMT joins the whole nation in paying its respects to Queen Elizabeth.
"The planned railway strike action on 15 and 17 September is suspended.
"We express our deepest condolences to her family, friends and the country."
Northern has confirmed it will now operate a normal timetable on all days this week.
