Date published: 07 September 2022

Over £2,000 worth of Class A drugs have been seized by police after a car chase through Rochdale on Sunday (4 September).

Three men were also arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and handling stolen goods.

At around 1.30pm, officers saw a vehicle suspected to have false registration plates in the Falinge area, and unsuccessfully attempted to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle – containing two men – failed to stop several times during the pursuit and attempted to evade patrols by driving in a dangerous manner in residential areas.

After evading patrols, officers located the vehicle a short time later which had been abandoned in Shawclough.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Officers stopped another vehicle in the area which was seen to collect the two males from the first vehicle.

“Following a search of the vehicles and three males involved, over £2,000 worth of Class A drugs were recovered, along with around £1,000 in cash.

“The males were arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and handling stolen goods.”
