Recruitment Solutions join back-to-school campaign to support Rochdale children living in poverty

A Rochdale-based recruitment agency has joined a back-to-school community appeal to support children at a local school as they enter summer and lose access to their free school meals.

Recruitment Solutions NW has donated back-to-school packs – containing learning essentials, food items and a Nando’s voucher – to Whittaker Moss Primary School, which will be distributed to the children in the school that need them the most.

The Back-to-School Appeal, started by Manchester-headquartered financial services firm Sedulo, reaches out to families living in poverty across the UK whose children brace themselves for a summer without access to free school meals and learning essentials.

The appeal which aims to support 1,000 children across the North and London is being run with the Michael Carrick Foundation and works closely with schools, charities and carers.

Recruitment Solutions NW Director, Gavin Reynolds, said:“We‘ve had a great working relationship with Sedulo for over 10 years, so as soon as we learned about the opportunity to support their Back-to-School Appeal we immediately signed up.

“We’ve been proudly based in Rochdale for over 15 years and have witnessed first-hand the regeneration in the region over the past few years. We’ve also seen the areas of Rochdale that are still waiting for regeneration investment, and with issues like rising living costs that’s where you’ll find the families really need support from appeals like this.

“Whittaker Moss School is a part of the Rochdale community that’s close to the hearts of our team members, and we know some of their children could do with a helping hand. Being able to connect the appeal with a school in the Rochdale region is something we’re very proud to do.”

Whittaker Moss Primary School has been contacted for comment.
