Reuse Littleborough's latest 'big box of hope' arrives in Tanzania

The container arrived in Tanzania on 3 February after a five-month journey
Donations sent by local community group Reuse Littleborough arrived in Tanzania earlier this month.
Group founder Michael Bamford confirmed on their Facebook page that, after beginning on its journey in September of last year, the ‘big box of hope for kids’ had arrived at Neema House in Geita, Tanzania.
Members of the group had filled a number of containers with items such as baby feeding bottles to send to the East African country, with the contents likely to change the lives of families and children living there.
After a nightmare journey - which included four weeks in a container yard, a broken electricity pole leading to a village blackout, and a mud bath - those at Neema House will finally be able to benefit from the items sent.
Michael said: "It took 18 months to fill with quality donations from the members of this little group Reuse Littleborough, and I thank every one of you on behalf of all the children and babies."
Reuse Littleborough was initially founded in 2015 and started with a post from Michael asking for donations of unwanted baby items to send to Tanzania.
With a main hub in Littleborough centre, the cause has now expanded to include its Second Time Around baby shop in Littleborough, the Rochdale Reuse Centre, and is part of Better Together, the former M&S building on Yorkshire Street.
The Facebook group boasts over 6,000 members.
