Rochdale singer Ben Gerrard to launch latest single this month

Date published: 15 January 2022

A Rochdale-born musician and actor is set to launch his new single later this month.

Ben Gerrard, who is best known for his acting roles in Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, will release “Thank You" on all digital platforms on 28 January.

The 37-year-old, who has also featured in television adverts and theatre productions, describes his new song as “layered acoustic guitars and laden with harmonies and vocals written for any thankful scenario, moments of reflection and a way to show gratitude without saying a word.”

Gerrard has recorded music throughout his career, with his 2019 solo hit “Skyline” amassing over 900,000 plays on Spotify.

After leaving his role as Cameron Clark on Hollyoaks, he toured with his band ‘Chairman of the Bored’, which was later renamed ‘MirrorView’, before they split on amicable terms.

The former Hopwood Hall College student then returned to acting with his role as Will Scott on Emmerdale, but continued to write his own music and perform tribute shows across the country.

His upcoming release will be his sixth single, following on from Skyline, Hear You Me, Fade, Confessions and Deck the Halls.

“Thank You” is released on Friday 28 January.
