Rochdale: temporary local road closures and restrictions

Area: Rochdale
Reason: to enable an archaeological dig to take place.

Start and expected finish: 1 July 2021 - 31 January 2022.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Packer Street, from its junction with South Parade up to and including its junction with Nelson Street. And temporary closure of Fleece Street, from its junction with King Street to its junction with Packer Street.
Organised by: Rochdale Borough Council.

Area: Rochdale
Reason: to repair the carriageway.

Start and expected finish: 15 November 2021 - Tuesday 23 August 2022.
Restriction and location:

  • Temporary closure of Dell Road to vehicles, from a point 305 metres from its junction with Shawclough Road for a distance of 330 metres in a north westerly direction.
  • Temporary closure of Dell Road to vehicles and pedestrians from a point 485 metres from its junction with Shawclough Road for a distance of 364 metres in a north westerly direction.
  • Temporary suspension of parking at any time along Dell Road from its junction with Shawclough Road for a distance of 297 metres in a westerly direction.

Alternative routes: Market Street, Shawclough Road and Dell Road.

Area: Rochdale
Reason: to install chevrons on the railway bridge.

Expected start and finish: 9pm on Wednesday 22 December - 6am, Thursday 23 December 2021.
Restriction and location: temporary closure of Richard Street, from the junction of Station Road to a point 65 metres in a south easterly direction.
Alternative routes: Lincoln Street, Lincoln Close, Oldham Road, Milnrow Road, Drake Street and Richard Street.
Organised by: Rochdale Borough Council.

Area: Rochdale
Reason: to repair an electricity fault in the carriageway.

Expected start and finish: Tuesday 14 December - Tuesday 4 January 2022.
Restriction and location: temporary closure of Chapel Gate, from its junction with Dale Street to its junction with Delph Street.
Alternative routes: the alternative route for vehicles is Dale Street, Smith Hill and Major Street.
Organised by: Rochdale Borough Council.

Area: Rochdale
Reason: to provide parking space for rail replacement buses during railway engineering works.

Expected start and finish: 4am on Monday 27 December - 23.59pm, Monday 3 January 2022.
Restriction and location: temporary prohibition of waiting and loading at any time on the south east of Station Road, from a point 15 metres south west of its junction with Richard Street to a point 68 metres south west of its junction with Richard Street. Rail replacement buses are exempt from this prohibition.
Alternative routes: not applicable.

Middleton: temporary local road closures and restrictions

Area: Middleton
Reason: repair a sewer in the carriageway.

Expected start and finish: Wednesday 8 December - Wednesday 29 December 2021.
Restriction and location:

  • Temporary closure of Durnford Street, from a point 10 metres east to a point 10 metres west of its junction with Lever Street.
  • Temporary closure of Lever Street, from its junction with Durnford Street to its junction with Grey Street.

Alternative routes: Long Street, Mellalieu Street and Rectory Street.

Heywood: temporary local road closures and restrictions

Area: Heywood
Reason: to repair an overhead BT cable.

Expected start and finish: Wednesday 15 December - Wednesday 5 January 2022.
Restriction and location: temporary closure of School Lane, from its junction with Ashworth Road for a distance of 388 metres in an easterly direction.
