Man taken to hospital after suspected acid attack

A man has been taken to hospital after a suspected acid attack on Ogden Lane in Newhey just after 8.15pm last night (Sunday 19 December 2021).

The man in his 30s had a substance, suspected to be acid, thrown in his face.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains with injuries to his arm and face. The injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have said that an investigation is underway and officers are carrying out multiple lines of enquiry.
