Whitworth’s wreath making workshop

Date published: 14 December 2021

Whitworth residents are in the full festive mood after creating traditional Christmas wreaths at Hallfold Church.

Residents drank mulled wine, ate mince pies and enjoyed Christmas classics playing in the background as they were shown how to create the perfect wreath by Tourism and Leisure Committee volunteers Lindsay Fairhurst and Vicki Henshaw.

The workshop – a "huge success" and "a perfect start to the festivities" – proved a great opportunity for everyone to socialise and catch up in time for Christmas and learn some new skills. People even asked about next year’s workshop and if one will be going ahead.

Tourism and Leisure Committee chairman, David Chorlton would like to thank volunteer Linda Parker for coming up with the successful idea and Josh Law Butchers and Bakers for the mince pies donated to the workshop.

All the Tourism and Leisure Committee events are designed to give back to the community; all proceeds made are put back into other events for everyone to enjoy.

Forthcoming events include the Santa Express on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December, and the annual New Year’s Day Duck Race.
