10 men charged with 56 offences after dawn raids

Detectives from GMP Rochdale's dedicated team tackling organised crime in the town have been authorised to charge 10 men with a total of 56 offences - including attempted murder, possession of a firearm, and conspiracy to murder.

All 10 of the accused were arrested during a series of co-ordinated strikes before dawn on Tuesday 7 December at 15 addresses across Rochdale and Heywood.

They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear today (Wednesday 8 December) at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court.

Ten other suspects arrested yesterday have been released on bail.

During the raids - as part of Operation Chicago - officers recovered suspected class A drugs and a firearm during searches on the day of action - which have been recovered for further forensic examination.

• Conspiracy to murder
• Attempt to murder

Nasir Kasmi, 27, of Rochdale:

• Conspiracy to murder

Taylor Snape, 20, of Rochdale:

• Conspiracy to murder
• Attempted murder
