Free festive party for local senior citizens in Rochdale town centre

Date published: 08 December 2021

Empire Rochdale and Springhill Hospice have teamed up once again to offer local senior citizens a free Christmas party on Monday 13 December.

From 1pm till 6pm, the festive event will take place at the former Rochdale town centre music hall - now known as Empire Rochdale - with donations for Rochdale’s only hospice, Springhill, collected throughout the event.

Attendees can be entertained by a fabulous live stage performance from local duo Smudge on the day, performing songs by the likes of U2, Bob Marley, Gary Moore, and Prince.

There will also be a free food buffet, free tea and coffee and free Christmas cake to truly get into the holiday spirit.

Empire also offers a doorstep taxi park and pick-up point, accessible entry [on a ground level with no stairs] and a disabled toilet and changing facilities.

A representative for Empire said: “Once again, Empire are proud to present the annual free senior citizen party for the local community of Rochdale and surrounding areas.

“Every year, the whole event is funded by the owners at Empire Rochdale; Empire prides itself in being a supporter of the local community.

“You don't have to be classed as senior to attend. Everyone is welcome!”

The Christmas party takes place from 1pm on Monday 13 December at Empire, 7 Packer Street, Rochdale, OL16 1NJ.

You do not need to register to attend; just turn on up on the day.
