New pay-what-you-can-afford community café opens on Drake Street to help those struggling

Date published: 18 November 2021

A new community café for people who are struggling has opened on Drake Street.

The Roc & Rolls Community Café is a new venture aimed at helping those who are struggling after the pandemic.

Based at the Rochdale Reaching Out Centre, the café operates on a pay-what-you-can-afford basis to help people access healthy food and snacks at an affordable price, whilst providing a wide range of help and support from a qualified team.

The Reaching Out Centre was opened in April this year by the Sanctuary Trust charity, a new community building that provides a safe space for local people to come together and form meaningful relationships.

The Sanctuary Trust has launched a new Reaching Out Centre on Drake Street, Rochdale, officially opened earlier this month

The Reaching Out Centre is also home to Angie’s Angels, the Pass It On furniture scheme and Real Change Rochdale, which all work with homelessness and homeless-related poverty and emergency homeless issues.

The Roc & Rolls Community Café is open 9.30am-2.30pm every Monday and Friday at 48-50 Drake Street, Rochdale.
