Car stolen in armed theft from Mellor Street recovered on Queensway after colliding with two cars

A car stolen in an armed theft from Mellor Street, Rochdale, yesterday evening (Monday 15 November) has been recovered from Queensway after colliding with two cars.

Police later located the vehicle - a red BMW 420D - as it was travelling along Queensway.

Before police could begin a pursuit, the car collided with one stationary and another moving vehicle on the road, closing a section of Queensway between Darlington Road and the Edinburgh Way roundabout.

A male driver in the BMW and two male passengers subsequently fled on foot and the vehicle was recovered.

The female owner of the car sustained minor injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
