Rochdale man charged after car theft

Police engaged in a short pursuit before a collision
Two men, one from Rochdale, have been charged by police after following a stolen car from Newhey to Oldham before a collision.
Police from GMP's Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit spotted a stolen Ford Fiesta in Newhey at around 2pm on Monday 8 November. They engaged in a short pursuit until the Fiesta was involved in a collision on Dunwood Park Court in Shaw.
A package was recovered and found to contain both suspected heroin and cocaine, along with a machete and a key to an additional suspected stolen vehicle was located.
Bradley Jones, 22, of Rochdale, has been charged with the following:
- Handling stolen property
- Possession of an offensive weapon
- Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs
- Driving whilst disqualified
- Driving with no insurance
- Failing to stop when requested
Darien Kenworthy, 24, of no fixed abode, has been charged with two counts of handling stolen property, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Both men have been remanded in custody will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court this morning (10 November).
