Rochdale: temporary local road closures and restrictions

Area: Rochdale
Reason: to promote social distancing measures due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Expected finish: Sunday 2 January 2022, or until such measures are deemed unnecessary.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Packer Street, from its junction with South Parade.
Alternative route: The Esplanade, Manchester Road, Drake Street, School Lane and Church Lane.

Area: Rochdale
Reason: to enable an archaeological dig to take place.
Expected start and finish: 1 July 2021 - 31 January 2022.
Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Packer Street, from its junction with South Parade up to and including its junction with Nelson Street. And temporary closure of Fleece Street, from its junction with King Street to its junction with Packer Street.

Area: Rochdale
Reason: to create a route for the bus replacement service while railway works are ongoing.
Expected start and finish: 12.01am, Saturday 23 October - 12.01am, Monday 1 November 2021.
Restriction and location:

• Temporary no waiting and loading at any time south east of Station Road from a point 15 metres southwest of its junction with Richard Street to a point 68 metres south west of its junction with Richard Street. Except for bus replacement services.
• Suspend part of the Borough of Rochdale (Civil Enforcement of Traffic Contraventions) (Various Streets) (Rochdale Township) Order 2008 - waiting limited 8am-6pm, 1 hour, no return within 1 hour, Station Road, Milkstone and Deeplish Ward, Rochdale, south east of Station Road from a point 15 metres southwest of its junction with Richard Street to a point 68 metres south west of its junction with Richard Street.

Alternative route: not applicable.

Alternative routes: East Street, Yorkshire Street and Edward Street.

Reason: to hold the Little Amal Procession.
Expected start and finish: 12noon - 2pm, Tuesday 2 November 2021.
Restriction and location: temporary rolling closure of:

• Toad Lane, from its junction with St Mary’s Gate to its junction with Hunters Lane
• Hunters Lane from its junction with Toad Lane to its junction with The Baum
• The Baum from its junction with Hunters Lane to its junction with Yorkshire Street as and when required
• Hunters Lane from its junction with the Baum to its junction with Reed Hill
• Reed Hill from its junction with Hunters Lane to its junction with Yorkshire Street, as and when required
• Hunters Lane from the junction with Reed Hill to its junction with Cheetham Street
• Cheetham Street from its junction with Hunters Lane to its junction with Yorkshire Street
• Yorkshire Street from the north side of its junction with Cheetham Street to its junction with South Parade

Restriction and location: Temporary closure of Greenbank Road, from its junction with Whitworth Road to its junction with Eva Street and temporary closure of Dewhirst Road, from its junction with Greenbank Road to its junction with Binns Nook Road.
Alternative route: there is no alternative route for vehicles.

Area: Middleton
Reason: to repair a defective sewer in the carriageway.
Expected start and finish: 8am, Wednesday 20 October - 7pm, Tuesday 9 November 2021.
Restriction and location: temporary closure of James Andrew Street, from a point 17 metres south of its junction with Norman Street for a distance of 11 metres in a southerly direction.
Alternative routes: there is no alternative route for vehicles.

Reason: to use the area as coach parking for the Safe Drive Stay Alive event.
Expected start and finish: 8am–6pm, Monday 15 November - Wednesday 17 November 2021.
Restriction and location:

• Temporary no waiting at any time along Lance Corporal Joel Halliwell VC Way on the south westerly side from a point 54 metres south east of a point opposite the south easterly kerb line of Old Hall Street for a distance of 52 metres in a south easterly direction.
• Suspend part of the Borough of Rochdale (Civil Enforcement of Traffic Contraventions) (Various Streets) (Middleton Township) Order 2008) (Amendment) (No.43) Order 2017 - Waiting Limited, 2 Hours, No Return Within 1 Hour - LCpl Joel Halliwell V.C. Way, North Middleton Ward south westerly side from a point 54 metres south east of a point opposite the south easterly kerb line of Old Hall Street for a distance of 52 metres in a south easterly direction.

Area: Heywood
Reason: to resurface the carriageway.
Expected start and finish: 7.30am, Friday 22 October - 5.30pm, Friday 17 December 2021.
Restriction and location: temporary closure of West Starkey Street, for its entire length.
Alternative routes:

• For vehicles wishing to access Bank Top Street, the alternative route will be Bamford Road, Market Street (A58), Bridge Street (A58) Peel Street and Cherwell Avenue.
• For vehicles wishing to access Bamford Road, the alternative route will be Bank Top Street, Cherwell Avenue, Peel Street, Bridge Street (A58) and Dawson Street (A58).

Pennines: temporary local road closures and restrictions

Area: Pennines
Reason: to resurface the carriageway.
Expected start and finish: 7.30am - 4.30pm each day from 20 September - Friday 29 October 2021.
Restriction and location: temporary closure of Ladyhouse Lane from its junction with Newhey Road to its junction with Elizabethan Way.
Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles will be signed on street when the order is in operation.

Area: Pennines
Reason: to repair a water leak in the carriageway.
Expected start and finish: 8am, Sunday 10 October - 6pm, Sunday 31 October 2021 or until the works are complete, whichever is sooner.
Restriction and location: temporary closure of Calderbrook Road from a point 15 metres south of its junction with Whalley Avenue for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction.
Alternative route: Harehill Road, Church Street, Halifax Road, Todmorden Road and Barnes Meadows.
