Met Office issues rain warning for Tuesday

Date published: 04 October 2021

A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for Tuesday (5 October) by the Met Office.

The warning mostly covers the North East and Cumbria, but extends to include parts of Greater Manchester, including the Rochdale borough.

The Met Office says around 15-30mm of rain is expected to fall across a wide area, increasing to 40-50mm in parts of the North East. It says 50-75mm of rainfall is also possible in a few spots.

Rain and strong winds will move north and eastwards early on Tuesday and could cause disruption on the roads.

The warning is in place from 2am Tuesday to midnight.
