Springhill Hospice golf day raises £9k

Date published: 16 September 2021

A golf day in aid of Springhill Hospice was held on Friday 3 September at Rochdale Golf Club.

Competitive spirits were high as 26 teams attended the event and took on the 18-hole course in the hope of being crowned the 2021 Golf Day champions.

The day was topped off with an evening dinner where the champions were crowned. Team Smith and O’Connell took the title with first place at the event, claiming the prestigious Golf Day trophy and each team member was awarded a £75 voucher for the golf club shop.

Team H Bell & Sons took second place winning a £50 voucher each for the golf club shop, whilst Team Simply Nuts took home third place with a £25 voucher each for the golf club shop.

Victoria Murray, Corporate and Partnerships Fundraiser at Springhill Hospice, said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended the Golf Day, it was so great to be back after a very difficult 18 months. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of all those who attended and also some who couldn’t attend but showed their support anyway.”

The golf day event proved successful as supporters were able to raise an incredible £9,072.60 for patient care at Springhill Hospice. Due to having to cancel the annual golf day event last year as a result of Covid restrictions, Springhill is delighted the event has achieved such a fantastic total thanks to the support of the participating teams and sponsors.

H Bell & Sons were the proud sponsors of Springhill’s Annual Golf Day event.
