A support group for male sexual assault survivors is taking bookings once again now that lockdown has lifted.
Parents Against Grooming UK, Yorkshire Street, is restarting its male peer-to-peer sessions every Thursday fortnight from 2 September.
The peer support group at the PAG UK centre is an opportunity to meet others who have been in a similar position to yourself, ask any questions you may have been afraid to ask, share coping mechanisms and be signposted to professionals depending on your personal needs and what you feel is good for you.
Those who attend a peer support group are in charge: you will not be asked to speak in detail of your experiences, only what you’re comfortable with.
Peer support will run every two weeks and is facilitated by two group members who are experienced in delivering peer support sessions.
Sessions are led by group founder William ‘Billy’ Howarth, qualified level 2 counselling, peer-to-peer mentor and group facilitator, and take place from 7pm to 9pm.
All volunteers at Parents Against Grooming UK hold a level 2 counselling and peer-to-peer mentoring qualification, whilst some have enrolled for their level 3 qualification.
For more information, or to book onto a session, please contact Billy (07305 839 788) or Andy Jones (07305 658 707).
