Trainee solicitor runs 10k for 10 days to raise £400 for Manchester Mind

A trainee solicitor has raised almost £400 for mental health charity Mind after running 10k every day for 10 days.

David Webb, 26, who lives in Castleton, carried out the challenge from 2 to 12 August, running along the Rochdale canal for 5k before returning along the same route.

David has raised £380 for the Manchester branch of the Mind mental health charity, and previously carried out a similar challenge last year when he lived in Wigan.

He said: “I don’t really go to the gym, but I do run. I can train independently and run at a constant pace. It takes me around 63 minutes to run 5k along the canal and back, on average, which I’m pleased with.”

David, who also launched a small business, M9 Abstract Photography, during the pandemic, added: “I chose Manchester Mind because mental health has been impacted by Covid. It’s good to get out there and support them.

“It was quite challenging at times, but I’m proud of it; it’s been great to raise a bit of money.”

David expects to carry out a similar challenge next year.

Donations can still be made to Manchester Mind via David’s fundraiser at:
