Deeplish Women's Wellbeing Group explore cultural connections at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery

Date published: 22 August 2021

The women’s wellbeing group from Deeplish Community Centre explored cultural connections at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery on Thursday (12 August).

The visit came as part of the group’s cultural heritage studies into South Asian backgrounds, exploring rural lifestyles and comparing them to today’s cultures and traditions.

For many of the group, it was their first time visiting such an ‘eye-opening’ place.

Maniza Khan, from the group, said: “This was an interesting and educational visit to Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery.

“We continue to engage with people and places to explore cultures and traditions. All the participants were pleased and enjoyed their experience and visit.”

Maniza also thanked community transport for making the trip happen.

The visit was sponsored by the Multicultural Resource Centre, and supported by Dr AK Shakoor.
