GCSE & BTEC results 2021: Cardinal Langley headteacher 'immensely proud'

Date published: 12 August 2021

Students at Cardinal Langley RC High School are celebrating excellent GCSE and BTEC exam results with more than a hundred students expecting to continue at Cardinal Langley with their sixth form studies.

Headteacher, Mr Bridson, said: “Our students have worked unbelievably hard and thoroughly deserve their results. It has been an honour to work together with each of our students during their time here at Cardinal Langley. Staff have worked tirelessly to prepare students for their qualifications and have gone above and beyond in supporting them with a blend of distance and face-to-face learning. I am immensely proud of their hard work and dedication.”

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.

All the students have their own success stories with Bethany achieving six grade 9s and four grade 8s. Bethany was delighted with her results and is looking forward to continuing her studies at Cardinal Langley Sixth Form with A levels in history, English literature, psychology and maths.

Devon achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s and a grade 7. He is very pleased with his final results and will be moving on to study maths, further maths, physics and psychology.
