GCSE results 2021: St Cuthbert’s celebrate outstanding results

Students at St Cuthbert’s RC High School celebrated outstanding GCSE performances on Thursday (12 August), after a tumultuous 18 months.

All students collected their results this morning, celebrated with their teachers and shared their excitement at moving onto their next steps in life.

Allwyn Thomas achieved a full set of grade 9s and will now progress onto Rochdale Sixth Form College to study A-levels in maths, physics and computer science.

Tara Abraham also achieved a full set of grade 9s and will now progress onto Rochdale Sixth Form College.

Tara said: “The teachers have guided me so well throughout the last 18 months and I am over the moon with my results.”

Not to be outdone, Rohail Khan and Sheena Davoodi also achieved a full set of outstanding grades and will progress onto Rochdale Sixth Form College to study A-levels.

Sheena was delighted with her results: “I am so pleased that my hard work has paid off and I am now looking forward to the challenges that A-levels will bring.”

As well as outstanding grades, a range of students made outstanding progress.

Declan Briggs is moving on to study football coaching after achieving a strong set of results across the board. He was really pleased with his results and proud that his hard work had paid off in the end.

Maksims Klimanovs and Josias Kiasuka also achieved brilliant grades having made outstanding progress during their time at St Cuthbert’s and both wanted to pass on their advice to future students, saying: “Work hard, believe that you can achieve and always be the best that you can be.”

Miss Holt, Assistant Headteacher at St Cuthbert’s, said: “It has been a really difficult year for our Year 11’s during the pandemic and we are especially proud of this group of young people.

“It was a privilege to celebrate their results with them this morning and wish them well as they progress onto the next stages of their lives.”
