Springhill Hospice invites you to Walk to Remember your loved one

Date published: 11 August 2021

Springhill Hospice invites you to join their brand new fundraising challenge - step up and 'Walk to Remember' your loved ones on Saturday 18 September 2021.

Springhill’s Walk to Remember is a 10-mile circular route; starting at Springhill Hospice, making your way through Milnrow to Ogden Reservoir and then returning back to Springhill for the finish line. The 10-mile route includes an optional 1.5mile scenic path around Ogden Reservoir.

The Walk to Remember route will be fully marshalled, participants will also be provided with a map and directions. Participants are encouraged to go at their own pace and the challenge is open to all.

Rebekah Cheshire, Springhill’s events and campaigns fundraiser, said: “You can really step up this September for Springhill. This is a brand new 10-mile route for you to enjoy, and you can take on this hospice challenge in memory of your loved one. Join in with your local community, come together and lets all 'Walk to Remember' this September, to enable the continuation of specialised end-of-life care within our borough. Who will you walk for?”

Springhill supporter Joanne, who is taking on the challenge in September, said: “I am walking to remember my dad, Ian. Springhill has provided the highest standard of dignified care to my closest friends - of all ages, cultures and religions. Personally, I am so excited to step up and show how thankful I am that Springhill is in the heart of our community. I would love to see you join me and walk in memory of someone you love - I cannot wait! Thank you Springhill Hospice for all that you do!”

Take part in Springhill’s Walk to Remember and pay tribute to your loved one. Your loved one doesn’t have had to have a connection with Springhill Hospice, it can be anyone you would like to remember.

Registration for Springhill’s Walk to remember is just £14, which includes your Walk to Remember t-shirt which you can personalise, refreshments and a well-deserved medal for taking on the challenge. Start your fundraising now to support Springhill Hospice and ensure they can continue to provide specialist care to those needing end of life treatment.
