Healthwatch Rochdale are looking for young people aged 13 - 18 to join Youthwatch

Date published: 15 August 2021

Healthwatch Rochdale are looking for Rochdale borough residents aged between 13 to 18 to join their newly developed Youthwatch.

As the independent local champion for people who use health and social care services in the Rochdale borough, Healthwatch Rochdale has developed Youthwatch to make sure that young people get the opportunity to have their say too.

Youthwatch members are voluntary and will help Healthwatch Rochdale engage with young people, gather their experiences of services, and promote the work of Healthwatch Rochdale.

There is no minimum time requirement to become a Youthwatch member, however two to four hours per month time commitment is advised to get the most from the opportunity.

Youthwatch meetings currently take place monthly via Zoom.

Ben Greenwood, Healthwatch Rochdale interim Chair of the Board, said: “Young people don’t always get to have their say on local health and care services and Youthwatch has been set up to change that. We want to ensure that local services are right for the young people of Rochdale and Youthwatch will play a key role in helping us to ensure young people are involved in shaping health and care services”.

If you are aged between 13 – 18 and are interested in joining Youthwatch Rochdale please click here and fill out an application form.

Healthwatch Rochdale is part of the Healthwatch national network, established by the Government to ensure local patients and users have a greater input to shaping and designing local services.
