Local teachers and schools recognised at this year’s Pearson National Teaching Awards

Four local schools have scooped accolades at this year’s Pearson National Teaching Awards.

Caldershaw Primary school teacher, Eliza Buckley has been awarded the bronze certificate for ‘Outstanding Young Teacher of the Year’, whilst Abdullah Al-Moshin, of Falinge Park High School, has also been awarded a bronze certificate in the ‘Lockdown Hero Award for Learner and Community Support’ category.

Milnrow Parish CE School received a certificate of excellence for the ‘Lockdown Hero Award for Learner and Community Support’, and Beech House was presented with a nominee certificate for ‘Making A Difference – Secondary School Of The Year.’

Ruth Trainor, headteacher at Caldershaw, said: “The school is thrilled that Miss Buckley has been recognised for her amazing work and dedication, teaching our Year 1 children. Well done.”

The Pearson National Teaching Awards is an annual celebration of exceptional teachers, founded in 1998 by Lord Puttnam to recognise the life-changing impact an inspirational teacher can have on the lives of the young people they teach – many of whom go on to train as teachers themselves thanks to the significant impact their teachers have had on them.
