Man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman found in Hey Brook stream

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Joanne Baird (also known as Joanne Mitchell), whose body was found in the water at Hey Brook stream on 3 June.

Detective Inspector David Crewe, of Rochdale CID, said: "Although we have made this arrest, we are still very much keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding Joanne's death.
"Enquiries are still ongoing and we are still appealing for information from anyone who may have seen or spoken to Joanne in the days leading up to her death."
