St Cuthbert's talent show winner Roisin Hassett to sing at Manchester International Festival

Date published: 02 July 2021

A Year 9 pupil from St Cuthbert’s will perform on the festival stage at Manchester International Festival this weekend, on Saturday 3 July.

Roisin Hassett, who won her school’s talent show and landed the chance to sing at the festival, will perform ‘Burn’ from the musical Hamilton.

Working in partnership with the Manchester United Foundation, the school ran a talent show where the winner’s performance went forward to a panel which chose acts to go forward to Manchester International Festival.

A spokesperson for St Cuthbert’s said: “We would like to congratulate Roisin and thank all staff and students involved. The whole process was a timely reminder of the strength of St. Cuthbert’s community and the wonderful support we have provided for each other during this difficult time.”

Manchester International Festival (MIF21) will run until Sunday 18 July at places and spaces across Manchester in a huge celebration of the city – with lots to do every day and night, including over 100 free gigs across three stages.
