Casualty with leg injury rescued near Ashworth Valley Scout Camp

The Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team rescued an injured person near the Ashworth Valley Scout Camp on Wednesday afternoon (30 June).

The casualty had sustained a potentially serious leg injury shortly and was transferred to hospital after being treated at the scene.

The mountain rescue team were called to assist in the evacuation by the North West Ambulance Service before being joined by the North West Air Ambulance and Bolton Mountain Rescue.

In a statement on social media, the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team said: “The air ambulance landed nearby and treated the casualty, shortly before being joined by team members from ourselves and Bolton at the scene.

“The casualty was then packaged onto our Bell stretcher along with its wheel before being carried to the awaiting team vehicles and a final transfer to the ambulance for onward transport to hospital.”
