Police appealing for help identifying potential witness

Officers investigating an assault in South Parade, Rochdale have released an image of someone they believe could be a potential witness.

At around 12.15am on Sunday 13 September 2020 a man in his 30s was punched by a second man, resulting in life-changing head injuries.

The man was taken to hospital and. He has since been discharged but required ongoing treatment.

The assault happened close to Natwest Bank on South Parade in the town centre.

One man aged 35 was arrested on suspicion of assault and released under investigation.
 


Police are appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to speak to the person pictured.

Detective Constable Claire Bracey of GMP's Rochdale District said: "We'd like to stress that the person pictured is in no trouble.

"We would only like to speak to them because we believe they may have witnessed the assault and could assist our enquiries."
