Rochdale singer-songwriter Olivia Deane releases new Christmas single

Date published: 21 December 2020

Singer-songwriter Olivia Deane, 23, released her debut EP, ‘Cynic Queen’, earlier this year in April, starting with a country-pop track that speaks to women who have repeatedly suffered heartbreaks.

‘Christmas Without You’ is the latest track of the EP to be released throughout 2020.

She said: “Play it while you’re wrapping presents or putting your tree up, I hope you like it. The lyrics mean something special to you in your own way.”

‘Christmas Without You’ is a song about wanting to be near the ones we love at Christmas, and how togetherness and memories make the time of year special, intending to invoke feelings of warmth and nostalgia.

Olivia first began writing her own songs at the age of 8, under the influence of Stevie Nicks, Taylor Swift, Dixie Chicks, Lennon Stella and Julia Michaels.

At age 19, Olivia entered Open Mic UK and later supported The X Factor’s Sam Bailey on tour last year.

Olivia has been named one of the top 21 emerging female artists in the UK after being awarded a video shoot and clothing contract by national fast fashion brand, ‘I Saw It First’.

Olivia entered the contest with her song ‘Beautiful You’, a track about remaining true to oneself which went alongside her first music video, shot in London.

Olivia is currently working as a singer out in the Maldives until January.
