The display in Providence Gardens, Middleton
Observed by Commonwealth countries, Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, marks the day when World War One ended: at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. Remembrance Sunday takes place on the Sunday closest to this date, this year on Sunday (8 November).
Here's how Middleton remembered the fallen this year.
Middletonians Jan Eaton-Dykes and Ros Liddel created a commemorative display featuring poppies and a hospital scene at the Providence Gardens.
The mannequins, to commemorate the fact that the building that was there was used as a military hospital in World War One, were made by Mandy Fletcher and her skills for life students at Hopwood Hall.
A small unofficial service took place in the gardens, with the sounding of The Last Post and two minutes' silence.
Rochdale Borough Council and Balfour Beatty have painted a Remembrance Poppy near the Middleton Memorial Gardens.
A short distanced service took place at St Mary's, Birch in Hopwood, which was posted to YouTube.
