Beech House School named as Independent School of the Year for a second time

Date published: 07 November 2020

Rochdale private school Beech House has been named as the Independent School of the Year in the 2020 awards.

Founded in 1850, the school is an independent co-educational school for students aged two to 16 which was previously awarded Independent School of the Year in 2014.

Principal Kevin Sartain said: "When Vivienne Durham, CEO of the Girls’ Schools Association, opened the envelope, Beech House School were delighted to be awarded Independent School of the Year.

“Many thanks to all the hard work by staff and pupils to make this possible. We are eagerly awaiting the trophy which has been posted.”

Hosted in association with Independent School Parent magazine, the awards are designed to offer UK independent schools a platform to showcase their success stories and celebrate the student experiences they provide.

Independent Schools of the Year are judged by and independent panel of experts, who will meet in the autumn to reach a decision on the winners and select highly commended schools from each of the 21 categories.
