Police chase motorbike from Hale to Middleton

Date published: 02 November 2020

A police chase from Hale in pursuit of two motorbikes ended in Middleton on Saturday (31 October).

A blue Suzuki motorcycle – believed to have been recently stolen – was found abandoned in Sale, after police were called to report of youths on off-road bikes driving through red lights in Hale.

Officers from GMP’s dedicated operation to off-road bikes were engaged in a pursuit with a second motorbike, also believed to be stolen, which came to its conclusion in Middleton.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers from the Roads Policing Team and Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit were assisted by NPAS to arrest a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of a number of offences including theft of a motorcycle and dangerous driving.

“Two bikes were recovered and enquiries are ongoing.”
