Owner of Bluebird Care Rochdale offers support to those who broke into offices

Date published: 30 October 2020

A businessman has offered support to those who broke into his Mellor Street office, leaving a wake of vandalism behind.

Domicillary care provider Bluebird Care Rochdale, which supports vulnerable people in their own home, was broken into on Friday 16 October.

Owner John Keogh says that whilst the break in was “frustrating”, he feels sympathy towards to those responsible and has offered his support.

The break in was discovered by a neighbouring tenant and the landlord has since secured the premises.

Although nothing was taken, the offices were left a mess with the door being smashed from its hinges.

Military veteran John, who runs Bluebird Care Rochdale with his wife, Beryl, said: “It’s not impacted the business; we’ve not stopped doing what we do.

“I am saddened that a home care business, run by Rochdale people, employing Rochdale people could be the victim of such wanton vandalism. We hold nothing of real value in the office as the majority of our information is held on cloud-based systems.”

He added: “I do appreciate people may be finding the current situation difficult. Those that did it, if you are finding things difficult, please get in touch: we will try and find you help for the situation you may be in.”

Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for comment.
