A Year 11 pupil at St Cuthbert’s is cycling 300 miles in just one month to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Andrew-Joshua ‘AJ’ Barnes is undertaking the Cycle for Cancer bike ride in memory of his grandad, and a family friend’s son who is fighting cancer.
AJ has so far ridden 190 miles, and hopes to raise £400.
The teen said: “I go out every day after school on my bike; I ride on Saturdays then rest on Sundays, ready to get going again on Monday.”
A Cancer Research UK initiative, the Cycle for Cancer bike ride asks participants to cycle either 200 or 300 miles throughout September 2020 to raise vital funds for life-saving research.
