Local service High Level (Northern) Trust, which provides support for those who are recovering from drug and alcohol misuse, has been able to recruit a new key worker, thanks to grant funding.
The grant from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, was received in early September, and the position already filled.
Service manager Callum Jones said: “This means that we can now better meet increased demand on our charity due to the coronavirus outbreak and help more people in Rochdale recovering from addiction issues.
“We are grateful to the government for making this possible. This will prove invaluable in helping to support people as we have seen a rise in contacts during the coronavirus pandemic.”
High Level is a charity based on Drake Street in Rochdale. Originally set up as an organisation to help people in the Rochdale area affected by substance misuse, High Level (Northern) Trust became a charity in 2002, providing one-to-one key-working sessions, a drop in common room with refreshments, holistic therapies, group sessions (currently via media platforms), counselling and advocacy.
As well as helping people in recovery from addiction issues, High Level is also available to help people who are concerned about their family or friends’ alcohol and/or drug use.
High Level’s service is free to anyone in the Rochdale and district area. You can contact them by telephone on 01706 860247 or 07872 545237 or by email highlevel@hlnt.org.uk.
