Police incident on Yorkshire Street

Six men have been arrested following a violent disturbance on Yorkshire Street, Rochdale on Tuesday afternoon (3 March).

Police and the ambulance service were called to the scene of a disturbance near Unique Barbers at 1.45pm.

Six men have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remain in custody, whilst three men have been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed they attended with a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance, before taking the patients to hospital.

The area around the barbers and the short stay car park near Wynsors were both cordoned off.

A spokesperson for the police said: "At around 1.45pm on Tuesday 3 March 2020 police were called to reports of a violent disorder on Yorkshire Street in Rochdale.

"Three men were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

"Six men have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remain in custody."
