Rosso to change route to service busy Entwisle Road

Date published: 18 September 2019

Bus operator Rosso will be altering a popular route in October to frequent a busy Rochdale road currently served just once an hour.

From 27 October, the Lakeline 457 service will operate between Rochdale and Littleborough via Entwisle Road, which is currently frequented just once an hour by the 434 service.

Despite there being both the Croft Shifa health centre and the Rochdale Leisure Centre on the route, no buses currently run to and from Littleborough via this stretch of road.

Instead of operating via St Mary’s Gate and Yorkshire Street, the Lakeline service will run along Entwisle Road and Halifax Road every 30 minutes from Sunday 27 October.

Tony Fiocca, General Manager for Rosso: “We’re hearing loud and clear that a better bus service to the medical centre on Entwisle Road is what local people want. So from 27 October, all our Lakeline 457 buses – going the fastest way between Rochdale and Littleborough down Halifax Road - will call along Entwisle Road too. This is the soonest we can make the change due to the registration process, and we’ve acted as quickly as possible to reduce the wait.

“We know our Lakeline bus is a vital link for many local people and we’ve seen customer numbers rising each month since we put the new buses the route.

“Hopefully this further change will mean even more people can get around with us in Rochdale and further afield.”
