Eid-ul-Adha celebrated at Rochdale Infirmary

A special Eid-ul-Adha event was a huge success at Rochdale Infirmary on Thursday (22 August).

Organised by the Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Staff Network for Rochdale Infirmary and Bury Care Organisation, the event was attended by staff from across the Infirmary.

Staff and patients enjoyed delicious food including samosas, various sandwiches and cakes.

Imam Hassanat from the Rochdale Council of Mosques spoke about the significance of Eid-ul-Adha, one of the most important religious festivals in the Islamic religion, a celebration of sacrifice and marks the end of Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

Chief Officer for Rochdale and Fairfield Hospital, Steve Taylor welcomed everyone and said a few words about the importance of diversity and inclusion in the NHS.

He also thanked everybody for making the event happen.
