Students at St Anne’s Academy achieved some really good GCSE results yesterday (22 August), with more higher level grade results (grade 7+) than ever before.
The ‘elite mathematicians’ (pictured) achieved between five grade 9's, four grade 8's, a grade 7 and a grade 6 bwtween them.
The bottom of a grade 7 is comparable to the bottom of the old grade A, whilst the bottom of a new grade 4 is comparable to the bottom of the old grade C. Grade 9 is the equivalent of above an A*.
Mr Duffy, maths teacher, said: “I am so proud of our maths students. They have all worked immensely hard and deserve their excellent results.”
Chris Heyes, Headteacher, said: “Attainment has improved at St Anne’s this year and I am very pleased for our students and staff who have worked hard to achieve this.
“I wish our Year 11 students every success in the next stage of their education and look forward to the challenges ahead in order to achieve further success in future.”
