GCSE results: fantastic results at Cardinal Langley RC High School

Students at Cardinal Langley are celebrating some fantastic GCSE exam results again this year.

Headteacher, Mr Bridson said: “Our students have worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserve their results. We are proud to have achieved success in a wide range of subjects and are particularly pleased with the increase in students achieving the highest grades.”

The bottom of a grade 7 is comparable to the bottom of the old grade A, whilst the bottom of a new grade 4 is comparable to the bottom of the old grade C. Grade 9 is the equivalent of above an A*.

All the students have their own success stories with Marylynn Michoke (main picture) achieving seven grade 9’s, three grade 8’s and one grade 7. Marylynn said she was proud of her dedication and hard work and was delighted with so many grade 9’s.

 

Jude McNab
Jude McNab

 

Jude McNab achieved four grade 9’s, a grade 8, four grade 7’s and one grade 5. Jude will be returning to Cardinal Langley in September to study A-levels in biology, history, English literature and psychology.

 

Frances Smith
Frances Smith

 

Nathan McGuinness achieved three grade 9’s, a distinction, four grade 8’s, a grade 7 and a grade 6 whilst Frances Smith achieved two grade 9’s, six grade 8’s and three grade 7’s.

Frances was very happy with her results and plans to study maths, chemistry, physics and further maths at A-level.

Fraser McNab

 

Fraser McNab was extremely happy with his results of two grade 9’s, six grade 8’s and two grade 7’s.

He will be returning to Cardinal Langley to study maths, further maths, chemistry and physics.

 

Margaret Aigbekaen
Margaret Aigbekaen

 

Margaret Aigbekaen was delighted with her results: “All the hard work and dedication pays off in the end!”

She achieved a grade 9, four grade 8’s, four grade 7’s and a grade 6.

 

James Lloyd
James Lloyd

 

James Lloyd will also be returning to Cardinal Langley in September after achieving two grade 9’s, two grade 8’s, a grade 7 and four grade 6’s.

He said: “Huge thanks to all the teachers for their effort with me.”

 

Isabella Fletcher
Isabella Fletcher

 

Isabella Fletcher was delighted with her results – a grade 9, a distinction, a grade 8, two grade 7’s a grade 6 and two grade 5’s – as was Joely Pearson with a distinction, two grade 8’s and six grade 7’s.

Daniel Haslam

 

Daniel Haslam will return to Cardinal Langley in September to Cardinal Langley in September to study physics, maths, computer science and chemistry, and Tatiana Costa will also return to Cardinal Langley to study business, biology and physics.

Tatiana was very happy with her results: “When you think you can’t do it, go for it with all your heart.”

 

Molly Chesters
Molly Chesters

 

Molly Chesters, who achieved a grade 9, two grade 8’s, four grade 7’s and three grade 6’s said: “The hard work and dedication eventually pays off.”

 

Ben Edelman
Ben Edelman

 

Ben Edelman was delighted with his results, a grade 8, four grade 7’s and four grade 6’s, and will return to Cardinal Langley to study economics, politics and maths.

 

Katie Fitzgerald
Katie Fitzgerald

 

Katie Fitzgerald will also return to Cardinal Langley Sixth form having achieved three grade 8’s, five grade 7’s and a grade 5 to study biology, chemistry, psychology and maths.

 

Bethany Gee
Bethany Gee

 

Bethany Gee achieved six grade 8’s and four grade 7’s, putting her results down to hard work and plenty of revision, and Rebecca Newton achieved six grade 7’s, three grade 6’s and a grade 5, saying: “I am over the moon. The teachers at Cardinal Langley are amazing and so supportive.”

Samantha Thompson

 

Samantha Thompson said she was very happy with achieving five grade 8’s, two grade 7’s and two grade 6’s and she will return to Cardinal Langley to study A-levels.

 

Anna Bromfield
Anna Bromfield

 

Anna Bromfield, who achieved three grade 7’s, two grade 6’s, two grade 5’s and two grade 4’s, was also delighted, saying: “Revision lessons paid off!”
