ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon – travel advice

Date published: 06 April 2019

The Greater Manchester Marathon takes place on Sunday 7 April, meaning roads in Trafford will be temporarily closed to traffic as they become part of the marathon route.

Roads will be closed and reopened at different times during the day, with the earliest and latest closures from 5am up until 6pm.

The closures will mean all traffic has to find alternative routes and public transport will be busier than usual.

Journey times are likely to take longer so it’s recommended that people plan ahead if they’re taking part in or spectating the event, or travelling in the area on the day.
