Whittaker Golf Club raises £19,500 for NSPCC
Date published: 23 February 2019
L-R: Bob Chadwick (Chairman of Rochdale NSPCC), Jane Leach (treasurer of Littleborough NSPCC), Garry Watson (Whittaker Golf Club Captain) & Geraldine O'Donnell (Chairwoman of Littleborough NSPCC).
NSPCC Littleborough presented a certificate to Whittaker Golf Club this week in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the UK’s leading children’s charity.
The NSPCC Charity Golf Day, held annually at the golf club since 2009, raises money through green fees, sponsorship from local businesses and a raffle.
"The golf days are one of the favourite events on our calendar," said a spokesperson of NSPCC Littleborough.
"We are always overwhelmed by the huge support we receive from Whittaker Golf Club’s President, Captain, committee and members who helps us ensure the golfers always have a great time, despite the often changeable conditions.”
Money raised at the golf days will help NSPCC in its aim in protecting children today, preventing abuse tomorrow.
