Three people - including a police officer - have been stabbed at Manchester Victoria

Three people, including a police officer, have been stabbed by a man at Manchester Victoria railway station. Following this incident there are currently no services at Victoria station (10.50pm New Year’s Eve, Monday 31 December).

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers are attending Manchester Victoria station following reports of a man wielding a knife.

“We received the call at 8.52pm on Monday 31 December.

“A man has been detained and two members of the public, a man and a woman have been taken to hospital with knife injuries.

“A BTP officer is also receiving treatment for a stab wound to the shoulder.

“British Transport Police remain at the scene along with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service.”

Due to the police incident there are currently no services at Victoria, (10.58pm New Year’s Eve, Monday 31 December 2018).

Services to operate as follows:

• East Didsbury to Deansgate
• Rochdale to Monsall
• Bury to Queens Road
• Airport to Piccadilly
