Norden Jubilee Park rated outstanding for third year at RHS Britain in Bloom Awards

Date published: 31 October 2018

Norden Jubilee Park has once again received the highest grade of ‘Outstanding’ at the RHS Britain in Bloom Awards in Southport on Wednesday (31 October).

The Royal Horticultural Society’s accolade is the third in as many years for the small and scenic park, which was one of four across the UK to receive a national certificate of distinction at the national awards in Belfast earlier this month.

Rochdale in Bloom vice-chairman and Friends of Jubilee Park Chairman Paul Ellison was on hand to bring success back to Norden Village, receiving the maximum level five recognition for the North West It's Your Neighbourhood category.

Paul said: “Thank you to all the volunteers who have been involved with our wonderful little park over the years, and especially this last year as we have also received a special certificate, recognising everyone’s hard efforts.

“The achievement is another success for Rochdale in Bloom, but we couldn’t do it without the volunteers who work hard to keep Norden looking beautiful.”

He added: “We are also looking forward to hopefully receiving gold at Friday’s RHS awards for Rochdale In Bloom, following on from our success at the nationals.”
