Meet Hannah – the friendly voice of the 464

Date published: 28 September 2018

Hannah Woodfin has been selected to provide on-board audio announcements for bus operator Rosso’s all new 464, which links Accrington, Haslingden, Rawtenstall, Bacup and Rochdale.

Hannah, from Rochdale, said: “I saw the competition to become the voice of Rosso’s 464 bus and decided to give it a go. I’m blind and epileptic and so I rely on the announcements when I’m travelling, so I know how important it is to have a clear, local voice that everyone where we live can understand.

“It’s sometimes not fair to ask the bus driver to remember where I need to leave the bus – and the great thing about these announcements is I don’t have to ask for help, it gives me and plenty of others our independence back.

“I had a great time recording the announcements at Drystone Radio, and I can’t wait to hear them on the amazing new buses on their way for the 464 – it’s so exciting to be the voice so many people will get to know.”

The fleet of new buses have customer-friendly features, including fast and free wi-fi, usb power points and wireless charging for mobile devices.

Alex Hornby, Chief Executive of Rosso’s parent company Transdev, says: “We wanted someone with a warm, clear and friendly local voice to provide simple announcements on our new buses – welcoming our customers on board and telling them when their stop is coming up.

“Hannah’s voice is just what we’ve been looking for and the fact that she knows how these announcements really make a positive difference makes her the ideal choice. She’s now destined to become one of the most familiar voices in Rossendale and Rochdale, and we’re very proud to have Hannah as the voice of our all new buses on the 464.”
